CSE - a key safeguarding judgement area within the Ofsted Common Inspection Framework.

In order to foster a culture of Collective Responsibility all staff and volunteers should understand the expectations governance places on their roles. This includes prevention, accurate identification of concerns, effective responses and the multi-agency strategies to provide therapeutic support.

The CSE Awareness training course is a key element of our safeguarding suite and is designed to ensure all leaders, including governance, staff and volunteers in schools and academies have a clear understanding of the CSE remit and how this transfers into best practice to ensure legislative and duty of care requirements are fully met.

As with all elements of our safeguarding suite, the course is supported by a sound knowledge base and practice examples. Our accredited CPD solution will ensure provision is safe, secure and there is a culture of vigilance.

Who should complete this training?

Our training is applicable to the following educational settings: Primary Schools, Primary Academies, Secondary Schools, Secondary Academies, Private Nurseries, Maintained Nurseries, Public Schools, Free Schools, Pupil Referral Units, and SEND Schools.

To fulfil the 2016 DFE statutory guidance and Ofsted framework requirements for CSE awareness:

  • All existing staff - Teachers, LSAs, HLTAs, TAs, Support Staff, Site Managers/Staff
  • All new recruits as part of the induction process
  • Named governors/ trustees for safeguarding & child protection
  • Volunteers

How do I get started?

  • Sign up by selecting a licence type and completing the order form.
  • Sign in to your Admin Portal to issue training, view staff progress/results, print CPD accredited certificates and evidence your training to Ofsted.

By completing this course, staff will:

  • Be able to comprehensively define Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)
  • Gain an understanding of legislation and statutory requirements within educational settings
  • Be able to recognise the key CSE risk indicators
  • Gain an understanding of the role of school and academy governance regarding CSE
  • Be able to identify their role in protecting pupils from / responding to incidents of CSE
  • Know how to refer young people
