At this time of school closures many staff have been given school laptops/devices to complete training from home. Very occasionally IT technicians set these laptops to have restrictions which can cause the following issues outside of school:

    This is because the browser on your device is blocking our presentation by blocking access to Vimeo which we use to play videos to you. There are a few options to fix this:

    • The simplest method is to try launching the training in a different browser. For example if you use Edge, Try Chrome and vice versa
    • Try accessing settings in your browser and allow access to https://vimeo.com
    • If you have a PC, Mac, Smart Phone or Tablet of your own you can login on any of these devices
    • Contact your IT support and direct them to this page on our website - https://ssscpd.co.uk/education/support#q8
    • or email support@ssslearning.co.uk and we will take you through what you need to do

    This is a cookies setting issue with the browser you are using. There are also a few options to fix this:

    After you request a password reset, you should receive a confirmation email almost immediately. If you do not receive the email within 5 minutes it is possible that your school's mail service has blocked our email. If the reset email does not come through please email us on support@ssslearning.co.uk and we will be able to reset your password for you.

Safeguarding Content Support

I am having trouble signing-in/staying signed-in.

You need to clear any existing cookies from SSS.

Please follow these instructions:

In Google Chrome,

  • click the 3 dots in the tip right corner of the browser.
  • Then click Settings.
  • Scroll down to Advanced which is at the bottom of the screen.
  • Then Choose Site settings.
  • Then Choose See All Cookies.
  • Then in the search box type 'SSS'.
  • Then click the recycle bin icon alongside any cookie set by SSS.

Your cookies set by us will now be clear.

Also it is advised to add ssscpd.co.uk to your allowed list. To do this:

In Google Chrome,

  • click the 3 dots in the tip right corner of the browser.

  • Then Choose Site settings.
  • Then Choose Cookies.
  • Then at the bottom of the screen there is a section called ALLOW. Click the ADD button and enter 'ssscpd.co.uk'
  • Then close Chrome and the reopen Chrome and log in to our site again.

You should now be able to stay logged in. If you are still being thrown out and back to the login page your IT department may need to carry out this procedure at a higher level for you.

If you cannot get hold of your IT person, try another browser such as Explorer.

-Mozilla FireFox:

  • Click the menu button (top left corner) and choose Options.
  • Select the Privacy panel.
  • Under History click on Delete individual cookies.
  • This will open a cookies window
  • Type-in ssscpd, this should display a list of our cookies
  • Delete each one by selecting it and clicking on Delete selected

-Safari:

  • Click on Safari on the top menu.
  • Select Preferences.
  • Select the Privacy panel.
  • Type-in ssscpd on the top left field, this should display a list of our cookies.

I have ordered a course but I have heard nothing from you yet...

As soon as you order a course from us you will be sent an immediate email with your login details. If you have not received an email it is either in your junk folder or your organisation has blocked our email. It is important that you whitelist orders@ssslearning.co.uk and support@ssslearning.co.uk to enable us to communicate with you. This is very important as any updates to the course you have will be communicated to you via your admin email address.

If you have ordered a course and have heard nothing within minutes, please call us on 029 2059 7000 or click to Live Chat with us at the bottom of this page. We do not recommend you email us as our reply will most likely be blocked until the blocking issues are resolved. We can, however, let you know your login details via Live Chat until such time as any blocked emails issues are resolved.

Is the training per person, or for my whole school?
The licences are split up into different bandings according to the number of staff/volunteers you would like to receive the training.

Each licence is valid for 12 months.

Click the SEE PRICING option on each course page, next enter the number of users you require and click CALCULATE PRICE you will be able to see the pricing structure for each licence bracket for that particular course.

I've requested a password reset but haven't heard anything. Why?

How many times can a User access the training or attempt the assessment?
A user can access the system an unlimited number of times during the licence period.

Some of my team are not on email. Does this matter?
If some team members are not on your organisation's email system, simply post the single access key and our training web address https://training.ssscpd.co.uk on your noticeboard. You and your employees can use this information to access the service. Users will need an email address of some type e.g. @yahoo, @gmail etc. to register their account.

Alternatively, you can use an email address that doesn't exist if your staff member or volunteer does not have an email address. For example, another@aredaleschool.sch.uk. This disadvantage will this is that they will not be able to receive a password reset email if they click the password reset link, Other than that we do not use email to communicate with trainees at any time.

How do my staff access the training materials?
They should go to:

and follow the on-screen instructions. They will require your account access key to begin.

The course videos are not playing on my device.

What level of training should I be offering my staff?

In the past safeguarding training specifications were often talked about in levels. Today, unless that is the language used by your Tri-partnership or Local Authority's own training policy, training should be not be described in terms of levels, for example, as ‘Level 3 training’, but by the role it is aimed at. Training is often advertised as, e.g. Level 3, but in different areas, Level 3 means different content. Therefore, it is essential that schools & academies always check what content is being described and who the training is aimed at. In line with this we have designed our training in line with the Intercollegiate Framework, which matches competencies to roles.

Will your training allow me to comply with safeguarding requirements?

Our training courses are used extensively in thousands of schools and academies. All schools and academies that use our training service have received favourable inspection judgements in terms of training and ongoing CPD requirements.

When considering purchasing training it is important to ensure your provider's content fully complies with HM Government cross departmental requirements.

Why should I choose SSS Learning's online training over paying a specialist consultant to visit my school or academy?

A consultant's session is fixed on a particular date, time and location, and is limited by number in each class either for reasons of room size or provision for classroom cover. This can leave some staff without training. Our secure online training can be accessed 24/7/365 from any PC, MAC, Tablet or Smartphone at any location with an Internet connection.

If you have licenced our safeguarding suite, all your staff would have access to the full range of safeguarding topics, too many to deliver, even across several consultancy sessions, for the full 12-month term of the licence.

The courses will be available for induction of any new staff throughout the 12-month licence period, something that a consultant could not cover, without significant expense to the school or academy.

If staff receive training from a consultant, followed closely by a legislation or policy change, how do they know that change has come into effect? Our online system is kept up-to-date with any changes notified to you and the courses updated.

Our training provides you with a meaningful evidence base. Your Admin dashboard allows you to monitor each individual member of staff's progress, number of attempts at taking the assessment and an audit trail for CPD evidence.

How do I issue a training course?

In the admin dashboard click on the orange ISSUE A TRAINING COURSE button towards the top of the screen, then tick the courses you would like users to do. Next scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the blue SHOW ME THE EMAIL TEMPLATE button. The email template will then be created. Then when you click anywhere on the template it will highlight in blue, then just right click your mouse and copy. Then paste it into your own email and send out to your team. The template email has the instructions for staff. They just have to go to https://training.ssscpd.co.ukenter their email and paste in the access key from the template email, then they set up their account.

Can I archive users that have left my school or academy?

If you have been using the system for more than one year you can archive users from your admin dashboard. On the admin home page click the button archive trainee accounts. Then just tick the check boxes for the ones you want to archive and then click on archive the selected users at the bottom of the page.

Can users change their email address used to set up their account?

If users login under their current address they can go into account settings and change their email. Alternatively, in the admin dashboard you can edit email addresses under "Show list of trainees". You cannot change users' names. We can do this for you. Please contact us on live chat or email support@ssslearning.co.uk

How do I get access to a safeguarding specialist?

Log in to your admin dashboard and click on the ASK OUR SPECIALISTS A QUESTION button on the homepage. Enter your query and press submit. One of our specialists will respond to your query.

Have the courses been updated in line with KCSIE 2020?

All our courses are updated in line with the new 'Keeping children safe in education' 2020 and 'Working together to safeguard children' 2018.

How long does it take to complete a course?

The length of course varies according the topic. On any course page scroll down to the HOW LONG DOES THIS COURSE TAKE TO COMPLETE button.

How often should training be carried out?

DfE Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance emphasises the importance of regular updates and annual safeguarding/child protection training so we recommend the training be carried out annually.

What happens when I sign up?

When a school or academy subscribes to the service, they receive their secure admin login (https://admin.ssscpd.co.uk). From the admin dashboard, you simply copy the course invitation email template and send it to staff. This means there is no complicated account set up, as staff set up their own account (https://training.ssscpd.co.uk) in just a few minutes.

As soon as staff start the training, you will then see progress, results and CPD certificates at your admin dashboard.
