On the 31st October 2015 new procedures for reporting on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) were introduced by government office as a mandatory duty for social workers, healthcare professionals and teachers. This training course is designed to ensure staff in schools and academies have a clear understanding of FGM and can effectively meet this duty.
Our CPD accredited training course will ensure you and your staff are fully compliant with OFSTED requirements whilst earning valuable CPD points.
NHS England data published July 2017 reveals over 5,000 new cases of FGM have been recorded in the past year, 112 of those affected being UK-born nationals. Given the nature of this type of abuse, this statistic cannot be fully substantiated as a definitive figure, strengthening the rationale to ensure all professionals - school/academy staff, health professionals and voluntary workers - are trained to identify those at risk and understand statutory reporting duties.
Our training is applicable to the following educational settings: Primary Schools, Primary Academies, Secondary Schools, Secondary Academies, Private Nurseries, Maintained Nurseries, Public Schools, Free Schools, Pupil Referral Units, and SEND Schools.
To fulfil the latest HM Government statutory guidance and Ofsted Common Inspection Framework requirements, training is advised for the following roles:
